3D CGI & Animation

Kinetic Image has been producing affordable computer graphics for over two decades.  Featured here are some of the animations created for various clients.  All objects (3D models) and scenes were created specifically for each project.  These scenes can be rendered in various sizes and formats depending on the end application, such as NTSC, PAL (broadcast), film or the internet, to name a few.  The animations shown here appear in the SWF (Shockwave Flash) format.  Click on the image to view the animation.

EC - 60 Disaster Shelter Walk Through

This underground, dome shaped disaster shelter was modeled to scale and animated for Radius Engineering based on CAD drawings provided by the company.  The structure, surfaces, lighting, furnishings and camera path were established as a result of discussions and correspondence with a company representative.  The intent was to portray how spacious the interior of the structure is for prospective clients.  Prior to this rendering there were no visual representations of the EC - 60.  The animation is now featured on this Texas based company web site.

Prelude to a Killing

An example of a 1930's street scene and a possible mobster 'hit' in the making.  This short piece was created to show how an animation can provoke an idea with simple images and audio effects.
Originally, the scene was rendered in full color but a post processed black and white version follows the color animation.
Desired Depth Fishing Lure

This underwater view of an aid to fishermen is an example of how animation can clearly portray a product or scenario that is difficult or impossible to photograph.  This animation was used as a supplement to a promotional video for this invention.  The DD Fisher is now being successfully marketed by a New Hampshire entrepreneur.

Space Station Fly-By

Created just for the fun of it, this imaginary space station and replica of the Apollo, Command and Service Modules was done as a 'rainy day' project.  The modular station was designed by the artist although inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey.  The Apollo spacecraft was built using historic photographs for reference.

Submarine

This submarine animation was created for East Coast Metrology, a Laser positioning systems company.  The animation was used to promote a new application for the equipment in a video production.
Web Clip Assortment

A series of animations specifically designed for various web sites to promote their products or services.
Thermadyne Roadshow

This animation/video composite is an example of how computer animation can be used with captured video segments.  The video sequence is added as a background to the animated foreground yet, as shown here, shadows and reflections can be accuratly cast onto the video 'background' to complete the illusion.  This was created for Thermadyne Inc. for an 'in-house video presentation intro.
